Massive wildfires are raging in southern California.

Flames erupted in the Los Angeles area on January 7. Los Angeles is the second largest city in the U.S. About 40 million people live there.

The flames swept south for 200 kilometres, almost reaching the Mexican border. They burned through more than 22,000 hectares in just 15 days.
