Geoffrey Hinton says artificial intelligence is dangerous. The British-Canadian scientist has been warning the world about AI since leaving his job at Google last year.

But on October 8, 2024, he and American scientist John Hopfield won the Nobel Prize in Physics. They were honoured for helping to develop AI. In fact, Mr. Hinton is known as the godfather of artificial intelligence.
