A new blood test can spot Alzheimer’s disease in patients with memory loss. That’s the word from researchers at Lund University in Sweden, who studied 1213 patients with a mean age of 74. They found the test is accurate up to 90 percent of the time.

The test was first developed in 2023 by the National Institutes of Health in the United States. It’s less expensive than a brain scan, less painful than a spinal tap, and more reliable than both of these diagnostic tests.
